Costume Sound Bath

  • Breathing Room Alameda (map)

Are you a grown adult who loves to get dressed up for Halloween but doesn’t like crowded parties or trick-or-treating?

(Alternately, are you a grown adult who actually really loves crowded parties and trick-or-treating but happens to have been born during the age of global pandemics?)

Are you looking for a safe place to share your fabulous becostumed self, and a chance to use your creativity and playfulness to breathe new life into your meditation practice?

Have I got the crazy sound bath for you.

Join us on Saturday October 30 at 7pm, hosted by our friends at Breathing Room Alameda, where we will admire and delight each other with our fabulousness, and then, supported by the sounds of crystal singing bowls, share a meditation that allows each of us to explore the mind-body presence of the costumed form we have chosen for the night. Together, we will foster a sense of curiosity about the different identities that shape our experience of being human, and take a stroll outside our habitual patterned selves to feel our way into the wild growth beyond cultivated personality.

You could show up as...

Your Shadow Self
(this is the you that scares you)

Your Superhero
(this is the you that inspires you)

Your Animal Guide
(this is the you that protects you)

Whatever you have in your closet
(always a classic)

Keep it simple or go completely over the top, all are welcome.

Just make sure:

~your costume includes a mask or face covering in order to adhere with our studio COVID protocols

~you can be comfortable in a seated or lying down position for our meditation practice

~you bring yoga mats and extra blankets and pillows (limited supply of props available to borrow)

~to sign up early… this event is likely to sell out! Early bird expires the Monday prior to the event.
